Koigu Painters Palette Yarn - 2 skeins of each color
Pattern: Chevron Scarf - Last Minute Knitting Gifts
During a difficult time, when someone does something nice for you, it's always special. BUT, when someone does something nice for your child during a difficult time, there are no words to describe how grateful you are. That is why I made this Chevron Scarf. My mother-in-law died recently. It was unexpected and devastatingly sad. We were all very close and spent our summers with them at our lake community for the past 6 summers. She watched my boys grow and we became very close.
Lynnette is a teacher's aide at the school I work at. She and I would often talk about our boys and school. My son is in the 5th Grade at my school, and came to my office at the end of one day, and told me how Ms. Trent helped him that day. He was feeling sad about missing his Nana, and she had some kind words for him. When you send your child into a building, you hope that someone in the building - no matter what building it is - will be kind and help your child. It's a leap of faith always! Lynette was there for Eamonn at a moment when I couldn't be, and for that... there are no words of thanks. So... I did what I do these days - and asked her favorite color, and began knitting the Chevron scarf.
I'll admit that I put it down, and picked it up, and put it down. I was determined to get it to her before the end of school - so the last day is Wednesday, and I blocked it yesterday and am giving it to her tomorrow.
I've already purchased Koigu Painters Palette yarn in two opposite colors (for more distinction between the pattern) to make on for myself!
